History of Profile Bank

1907
We were formed in 1907 as People’s Building and Loan Association which was recorded as a Voluntary Corporation under the laws of the State of New Hampshire. The first shareholders of the Association were R.M. Edgerly, G.E. Greenfield, O.B. Warren, G.F. Babb, D.J. Lucy, G.W. Shaw, J.F. Quinlan, W.H. Riley, W.E. Blaisdell, I.P. Marcotte, E.B. Fish, L.V. McGill, W.M. March, F.E. Small, J.A. Emery, C.D. Colman, F.B. Preston, N.B. Foss, L.B. Tuttle and W.E. Turner.

1949
The charter was converted to a cooperative bank and our name changed to People’s Co-operative Bank of Rochester.

1955
It became advisable to convert to a federal charter to obtain the benefits available to federal savings and loans. We then changed our name to Rochester First Federal Saving and Loan Association.

1976
We opened our first branch, located in Sanbornville, and determined it was best to change our name to Profile Federal Savings and Loan Association.

1983
A few years after our Main Office was built in Rochester, regulatory changes allowed us to shorten our name to Profile Bank. “Profile” was chosen to honor the Old Man of the Mountain, a widely known landmark located in Franconia, New Hampshire.

2005
Over two hundred people attended the grand opening of our Alton Branch which conveniently serves the communities surrounding Lake Winnipesaukee.

2008
The third branch of the Profile family is our Somersworth Branch. This space was built to look much like the Alton Branch, but with additional space to house a Commercial Lender.

2025
Our fifth Profile location opened in January of 2025, and is nestled in the heart of downtown Dover, located at 538 Central Avenue.
