Gift Card Scams

Gift Cards are for gifts, not payments.

Be cautious of fraudulent calls or emails urging you to make a payment as soon as possible. Scammers may ask you to make the payment using gift cards. Gift cards are like cash, once they are used the money is gone.

Three key signs of a Gift Card Scam:

• The caller says it's urgent
• The caller tells you where and how to buy the gift cards
• The caller asks you for the gift card number and associated PIN
